What is Compliance

A Letter of Good Standing signifies compliance with the compensation for occupational injuries and diseases act of 1984. The act was introduced to ensure that ALL employees have access to emergency medical assistance if they are injured, become ill or die at or because of their work environment.
2.
Registration ensures that any employee who is injured on duty, is guaranteed of the highest level of emergency medical care without being burdened with the associated medical costs which will inevitably be incurred. Such costs are borne by the compensation fund.

All employers who employ one or more part time, temporary or full time employees are legally required to register with the compensation fund within 7 days after the first employee has commenced employment.

Where an employee is fatally injured the employees dependants are eligible to receive a pension to mitigate the loss of earnings.
